Bereits zur Nokia World 2009 gab es Gerüchte, dass Nokia nicht beim Mobile World Congress 2010 teilnehmen wird, dem größten Event der Mobilfunkbranche. Man wolle sich mehr auf eigene Events konzentrieren hieß es immer wieder und kurze Zeit später gaben die Finnen auch offiziell bekannt, dass sie tatsächlich keinen eigenen Stand haben werden, man wird lediglich mit Nokia Siemens Networks vor Ort sein. Der MWC 2010 findet vom 15. bis 18. Februar in Barcelona statt und Nokia wird eine eigene Veranstaltung, nicht weit vom Messegelände entfernt haben. Das Ziel ist es eine entspannte Atmosphäre, etwas abseits vom Messetrubel zu schaffen, die Veranstaltung von Nokia findet auch nur zwei Tage statt und zwar am 15. und 16. Februar. Außerdem wird es auch nur eine Pressemitteilung am 15. Februar von 11.30 bis 12.30 geben, eine Stunde vorher ist die Pressemitteilung von Nokia Siemens Networks auf dem MWC10. Passend zur Veranstaltung wird es wie immer die aktuellen Mitteilungen, Videos und Newsauf der Event Homepage von Nokia geben, welche schon online ist.
